Marklin rare Tin early 1900s horse racing table top casino game for nine horses

Marklin horse racing table top game. This is early 1900s and quite a rare survival. It has three circuits - not the usual two- with all its nine horses with a working chain mechanism and clearly stamped. This is a variation on similar table top casino type games made in France and elsewhere in late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

Condition: On top: the enamel green and red paint generally fine on top; the nine presumably lead horses all present and with odd bit of paint missing one of the jockeys has lost his head! ; the four metal arches present, one or two missing ends/slightly out of shape see pictures; not sure if the centre would have had a bell or cup. I think there would originally have been a starting flag as well.

On the sides: it is all housed in original softwood frame, with silvered paper on the sides (some bits not present lower down exposing the wood). The simple starting thumb mechanism for starting chain works well and the rings rotate freely though the outer ring grinds to a holt sooner than the inner ones, but some minor adjustment could remedy. Underneath: All the parts seem present, with the simple chain mechanism fully functioning. But overall pretty sound for its age, and you are unlikely to find one outside a museum that it is perfect! Feel free to ask any questions or request extra pictures. Will be sent signed for for extra security.
